Marcia McIntosh, 2011 i3 Scholar, has been selected to lead the newly formed i3 Alumni Association. The i3 Alumni Association will strengthen relationships between alumni, current i3 Scholars, and the information community. As the inaugural President of the Alumni Association, Marcia will share information regarding news, career and volunteer opportunities, event announcements, and professional development support.
Marcia first learned of the i3 program from a librarian mentor while earning her bachelors degree in English and African & African American studies from Washington University in St. Louis. Marcia became one of the program’s inaugural scholars in the summer of 2011. i3 gave her exposure to many topics within information studies as well as numerous graduate opportunities. After completing her undergraduate studies, Marcia went on to pursue her masters in Information Studies at the University of Texas at Austin School of Information. Marcia completed her master’s degree in 2014 and now works at the University of North Texas as a Digital Production Librarian.
